Local Pride Christmas Trees, bringing together Thai elements and Disney’s Winnie the Pooh
In addition, Central Pattana is building on the success of its award-winning ‘Local Pride Christmas Trees’ campaign, which made history as the first Thai company to win a 2026 ICSC Global MAXI Award, alongside recognition at the Marketing Award of Thailand 2025.
Continuing its collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for the sixth consecutive year, Central Pattana is once again introducing Local Pride Christmas trees – this time combining the beloved Winnie the Pooh with Thai local identities. Visitors can look forward to Winnie the Pooh-themed Art Installations at six Central shopping centers: Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai Airport, Ayutthaya, Salaya, Si Racha and Surat Thani. Co-created with local artists and communities, each installation showcases the unique charm of its location through traditional craftsmanship, local materials and cultural heritage, creating festive landmarks that connect people and communities.
Parichat Boonclai, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications said: Our collaboration with Central Pattana provides an opportunity to showcase the distinctive charm and local identities of different regions through festive landmarks. The initiative of local signature Christmas trees also honors the prestige of Thailand’s UNESCO-recognized heritage and creative cities, reflecting the value of Thai craftmanship.

The six Local Pride Christmas trees:
• Central Ayutthaya joins hands with The SUPPORT Foundation of Her Maj Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques to create a ‘Christmas Tree of Happiness’ by gathering Thai fabrics from across the country in one place. The Christmas tree highlights provincial textile identities such as ‘Pha Lai Yang’ (Siamese chintz), a fabric pattern designed by the Siamese royal court based on royal Thai taste. The woven ornaments crafted by local communities such as woven fish are also added to the tree.
• Central Chiangmai Airport co-designed the Christmas tree alongside the Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University to ensure that this art piece captures the charm of Lanna culture through woven patterns and ‘Tung’ (traditional Lanna vertical hanging banners); the tree is decorated with woven flowers from VASSANA, which combines traditional bamboo-weaving craftsmanship into contemporary art and design.
• Central Chiangrai joins hands with the Mae Fah Luang Foundation under Royal Patronage (Doi Tung) for the sixth consecutive year to trace the journey of Dipterocarpus alatus seed (Yang Na or Winged fruit) from the forest to the heart of the city and turn every flight (of winged fruit) into a symbol of hope.
• Central Salaya joins hands with the Thai Orchid Garden Enterprise Association to create an orchid Christmas tree inspired by six orchid varieties, reflecting the unique identity of Nakhon Pathom province, a major orchid grower that welcomes you to witness the world’s debut of ‘Arocha’ a stunning new sweet pink Dendrobium orchid variety.
• Central Si Racha is joining hands with the Chon Buri Fisheries Provincial Office to showcase the charm of the local fishing community through a Christmas tree inspired by ropes, fishing nets and trawl nets that reflect the deep bond between the people and the sea in addition to the abundance of marine resources.
• Central Surattani is collaborating with the Krajood Community Enterprise of Ban Huai Luek and provincial agencies to tell the story of the coconut, a major economic crop, through a creative and contemporary Christmas tree made by weaving techniques that reflect the wisdom, identity and abundance from Suratthani province.
